7/20 Basic Grey page and card kits

Basic Grey has always been one of my favorite paper lines and the longer I scrapbook the more I love them. I also really think the company is good at knowing what the average scrapper likes and they are great at getting it out there and into out busy hands. A couple of weeks ago I blogged about card kits. Well I am loving the card kits. If any of you have been to Hallmark lately to grab a card you will surely know what I am talking about when I say they are getting expensive! What is so nice about the card kits is you get everything you need to make 8 beautiful cards and includes the envelopes for $14.99 MSRP. Well now they are including page kits in their lineup.
Each kit includes everything you need to create 2 layouts ... that is a total of 4 pages for $17.99.Now one thing I did notice is they are pretty .... but kind of basic. So here is what I think ... why not use what they give you as a base and add some of your own touches.... flowers, bling, stickles, brads, buttons and ribbons. Just a little would make them so incredible. Here is the new page and card kits for Basic Grey's Oliver and Olivia line. I love them both and how cute are these kits???

7/19 Camping and Fishing layouts

A couple of years ago we went camping and we really aren't the big campers, but the kids loved it so much we did it a couple years in a row. I took so many pictures the first year, the second year we went I knew there would be just as many photo's and I was determined to scrapbook the memories. So I bought a tun of awesome papers and embellishments and anything I needed to create the pages while camping and took it all with me. I am really not a big sticker lover but I knew if I wanted to create pages while camping I would need to keep it simple. The pages came together quickly and I was able to add some letters with the use of my Sizzix machine. For those of you not familiar with Sizzix it's a die cutting machine you use small dies for cutting. It is a little bulky but doesn't require a plug in. (perfect for camping:) So with summer here and the itch to do something fun I am thinking camping again. So I took out my camping layouts for a refresher on the memories and how much fun it was.I have a tum of pictures I just don't know why I haven't added them all to these pages either way they are all great layouts and perfect for some summer inspiration. Enjoy!

7/8 Summer is finally here!

Oh yes.... summer is finally here and it is hot! ( Not complaining ) I ran across this summer layout and I forgot I had even did this one. It is so cute and I even added stickers. For those of you who know me ... I really don't like stickers on my pages. Every once in a while I do use them but I really would rather use anything else. With these pages I used everything including the matching ribbons.

7/7 Adorable layout

This adorable layout is created with papers from Scrap Within Reach. I just loved the color combinations. One of my favorite parts of this layout is the chocolate cardstock. I cut a 12x12 in half to make two triangles. Then I added them so that they created a unified line across both pages. I love that look.

7/6 The Girls Layout

Great layout for the girls... I love the colors orange and yellow. They really have a retro feel for me. So when I ran across this My Minds Eye line I had to have it!
I created this great 2 page layout and just needed a little something so I added a tun of buttons ... a cheep addition to any page and what a great look!

7/5 Monday's Post - Layout

My Cutie Pie - Love this layout and love how cute Kamryn looks here. She really was
and is a beautiful girl. I can't believe how fast they grow up. On this layout I used a Basic Grey line. It's a couple years old but you might get lucky and see some still in your local stores.

Here is one of my favorite things.... I love white jell pens! When you use them on
darker papers to show detail or add touches here and there ... it really makes a great statement and only costs about a dollar. Isn't that great!

7/1 Layout

A couple years ago ... when Joy 4ever Scrapbooking still had open crops... Jacki and I decided to go to one. On the way there I had a idea for this page. Jacki just goes with the flow and says OK, I'm in... cuz I really think she has no idea what I am talking about when these crazy moments happen. So she just says oh ya ...and that would be great:)and hopes it all turns out.
With these pages I really wanted a black and white layout with a pop of color. I think I was probably after hot pink at first but went with the purple and aqua. Everything is black and white except the glitter paper. I cut a circle for the flower center and then penciled a petal and cut out a template, once I had the petal template then I traced and cut eight of them. I also added some small circles to the outside edge with assorted circle punches and a little bling here and there. I just love how they turned out and Love the pictures of Kami on these I think she was 6 or 7.

6/30 Storage tip

Here is a GREAT storage tip I ran across and just love the idea! You know all those
coat hangers we have? Well take a peak at this...

They use those coat hangers for men's slacks... you know the ones, and used large ziploc bags to put papers in. What I love about this idea is if you don't have those coat hangers ... why not use the regular ones? You will only be able to put one set of papers on those... but they would still be a great space saver.
Don't you just love this idea?

* Sorry the picture is so small I tried to make it larger. :(
